Phase II: supporting Viet Nam's medium-term response

Image: Transporting Poultry The Government's medium-term response to avian influenza is outlined in the Viet Nam Integrated National Plan for Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Influenza Preparedness and Response 2006-2008 presented at the International Pledging Conference on Avian and Human Influenza, Beijing, 18-19 January 2006.

Based on this, the Government is currently developing a more detailed Integrated Operational Plan for Avian and Human Influenza 2006-2010. Development of this plan is being supported by UN agencies, the World Bank and other international donors.

Once approved, this Integrated Operational Plan will provide the basis for coordinated donor support to address avian and human influenza in Viet Nam. Phase II of the joint Government-UN programme is being designed to support implementation of this national plan.
