International Donors supporting Joint Programme

Coordinated International Donor Support

The joint Government-UN programme is a key funding channel for coordinated international support to Viet Nam's overall response to avian and human influenza.

Seven bilateral donors including Australia (AusAID), Canada , Finland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden (SIDA) and Switzerland (SDC) are channeling funds via UNDP as Administrative Agent (AA)
UNDP is contributing funds specifically to support programme and donor coordination
The United Kingdom Department for International Cooperation (DfID) advanced funds through the DfID-UNDP Strategic Partnership Initiative to start up the Joint Programme
The United States of America (USAID) is supporting parallel activities directly through FAO
The World Bank , the European Commission and the United States of America (USDA) are also funding activities through FAO which are harmonised with the joint Government-UN programme
